MARCH Into Better Health

This is a New Year, a New You right? Three months into the New Year has anything changed yet? Not for me! Stil not exercising and still letting day to day life things get in the way. BUT, March is another reminder that Spring is just around the corner. Summer is coming up quickly behind and we're going to bash ourselves for not trying to get into shape sooner. Though, exercising is not the primary vehicle to health. Eating right, getting adequate sleep, mental health, less stress etc. are equally important. Exercising does get the blood flowing. It does help you feel better about yourself to propel the other areas of our lives to force you to make better choices. 

We've touched on eating better, we'll eventually focus on sleep, stress, and mental health days.  Lets dedicate the month of MARCH to exercise! So lets get moving! One of my focus this month will be to pick an exercise I enjoy doing to get me started. If your past time love was running track in high school, baseball, or softball or dancing pick that. For me I enjoyed music and dancing. So I will be starting off with aerobics and my other love of walking my dogs more often. After two weeks of moving than I will create an all around routine of full body exercises such as using the TRX, doing some strength training, and working in a day of yoga. No matter the choice of exercise just pick something you enjoy that is getting the blood flowing, oxygen to your brain, and using your muscle memory. We want to ward away disease and the best thing that can assist with that is exercise!

Some other suggestions is to find an app that will keep track of what you are doing such as myfitnesspal where you can track what you are eating as well as integrate your movement with whichever device you're wearing. Make it a competition against yourself to see if you can out do your prior days steps or calories you have burned.  Once again have fun with it! 

On another note, have the right gear. Proper footwear, a tracker of your choice (there's so many to chose from), proper clothing, etc. Check out our colorful sun blocking visors or fitness bands to keep those fat tears out of your eyes at www.bestlifenow.com/fitness and look cute while doing it! 

Most Importantly make sure you replenish with getting adequate water hydration!~
